Karkuma BioComfort is a probiotic food product specially formulated to maintain intestinal balance and improve digestive health. Its key ingredient is Bacillus coagulans—a gram-positive, anaerobic, rod-shaped, spore-forming lactic acid bacterium derived from malt and certified as GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) by the USFDA for use in food products.

Bacillus coagulans can survive the highly acidic environment of the stomach and reach the small intestine intact. In the favorable conditions of the small intestine, it becomes active and ferments carbohydrates to produce lactic acid. This allows the bacteria to survive the highly acidic conditions of the stomach (low pH of 1–3) and remain stable even after prolonged exposure to high temperatures.

Research conducted in Japan has shown that Bacillus coagulans SANK 70258 can pass through gastric acid environments (pH 1.2) without being affected and successfully reach the small intestine. Even after 3 years of storage at 37°C, more than 70% of the bacteria remain alive, and in hard capsule form, they remain viable and effective even at 40°C.
