Cooking Ingredients Needed:

  • Beef (1 kg, bone-in or boneless)

Preparation Method & Cooking Procedure:

  1. Wash the meat and drain all excess water thoroughly.

  2. Take the meat in a heavy-bottomed pot. Add chopped onions, Shosti Kala Vuna Masala, mustard oil, soy sauce, a little tomato sauce, and salt to taste. Mix everything thoroughly with the raw meat.

  3. Cover the pot and cook over high heat initially. Stir occasionally and add water as needed to ensure the meat cooks thoroughly without sticking to the bottom.

  4. Once the meat is cooked and the gravy thickens, lower the heat to a simmer.

  5. Stir occasionally until the thick gravy is fully absorbed, coating the meat, and the beef turns its signature dark, almost black color (Kala Bhuna).

  6. Finishing Touch: Finally, add 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce and some cubed onions. Stir briefly for a few minutes. Your delicious Beef Kala Bhuna is ready! Serve hot with Polau, paratha, or fresh ruti.
